Guide to OpenRefine

This function allows you to split a single column into multiple columns based on a specified delimiter. This is useful when you have data that is stored in a single column but should be separated into separate columns for easier analysis or manipulation.

To split into multiple columns:

1. Locate the column you want to transform and click on the arrow button on the column header.

2. Select the “Edit column” option.

3. Click the “Split into several columns” option.

4. Choose how you want to split the column (by separator or by field lengths) and fill in the details.

5. Click “OK”.
