Guide to OpenRefine

The dataset that will be used is about university endowments harvested from Wikipedia. This data is from University of Idaho library OpenRefine Tutorial.

Steps to create a new project:

1. Open OpenRefine.

2. Click “Create project”

3. There are different locations that the data can be imported from. Select where to import the data from, then click “choose files”, and click “Next”.

4. Change the setting based on the file format (CSV, TSV, xls, JSON, etc) if not correctly identified.

5. Click “Create project”.
