A Map to Black Studies Collection

Black Critical Theory and Philosophy

The "Black Critical Theory and Philosophy" subsection gathers titles that critique and challenge the systems and power structures in society that marginalize and oppress groups of people. This includes discussions about critical race theory, systemic racism, and harmful narratives surrounding race, gender, and class. It also introduces philosophies and solutions that aim to combat these obstructions of social justice and equality.

In this subsection, expect to find books that discuss racism as social, political, and economic roadblocks, and ways to begin overcoming them. Analyze whiteness, antiblackness, and racist culture, and how to address these issues. The goal of this subsection is to provide analyses and deconstructions of the conditions facing Black people and other marginalized groups as it is built into our societal framework.
