Americans and the Holocaust Traveling Exhibition

Join Holocaust survivors monthly for live First Person conversations as they share their experiences in their own words. Programs will be recorded and available for later viewing on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's Youtube channel.

USC Shoah Foundation's Institute for Visual Literacy and Education currently has more than 55,000 video testimonies, each one a unique source of insight and knowledge that offers powerful stories from history that demand to be explored and shared. The testimonies are preserved in the Visual History Archive, one of the largest digital collections of its kind in the world.

Thirteen holocaust survivors share stories of heartbreak, horror and hope from their harrowing experiences in the largest German Nazi concentration camp and extermination center, Auschwitz. Watch their interviews from the special "Auschwitz Untold."

Each of the videos in this series tells a story that stands as testimony and lasts beyond a single lifetime. Each story is based on authentic letters and diaries that document firsthand accounts of the Holocaust, so that their truths shall never be forgotten. Behind every name is a story.

Manny Klepper, a Lafayette resident and Holocaust survivor, visited the Americans and the Holocaust exhibit at Dupré Library and shared his personal account of Kristallnacht—the attack on German Jews that signaled the start of the Holocaust on Nov 9, 1938.
