Research FAQ

Q: How do I get help with my research assignments while the library is closed?
A: Real-time research assistance is available through our Ask a Librarian chat service. Hours for the service are:

Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Saturday CLOSED
Sunday CLOSED

In addition, research questions and requests for one on one appointments with a librarian can be sent via email to reference@louisiana.edu.

Q: What resources are available for research?
A: Many of the library's resources are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and include research databases, electronic journals, and full-text eBooks. Helpful guides to resources and tutorials can be found at the Library's research guides.

Q: My research assignment is very specific. How do I speak with a librarian who is familiar with my particular subject area?
A: Your departmental librarian can assist with any in-depth research assignments.
