The education of gifted children has been studied for many years. The Center for Gifted Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette was established to coordinate the University’s efforts to enhance the education of our future leaders.  It offers one of the only programs in the state in Education of the Gifted and a Louisiana certificate in Academically Gifted. One of the Center's major efforts is the coordination and facilitation of research on the on the identification and development of high potential.  Education is a challenging and rewarding profession, and the librarians at Edith Garland Dupré Library are eager to help prepare students studying gifted child education by providing them with the resources they need for their education.
